A cidade da Coruña, wrapped
Digital photography
2021
30 photographers from A Coruña were asked to gather and walk along on 3 different journeys around 3 different neighborhoods to portray the city through their eyes.
My contribution, “A cidade da Coruña, Wrapped”, is a little wink to Christo and Jean-Claude, as I focused on the many buildings that once were covered in scaffolds with the idea of a renovation that never came. Wrapped buildings became such a normalized piece of the city that I had to make an extra effort to actually see them.
The photos portray the plasticity and materiality of the fabric, with a special attention on the colours and textures, highlighting the similarities with an artistic installation.
